It happens every year. Christmas comes and goes and before you know it, we’re opening the page to a brand new year. But before we do, the Scripture Dig team wants to wish all of you fellow diggers a very Merry Christmas!

I thought it might be fun to share our favorite Christmas carols. I’ve linked a Youtube version of one of mine (as sung by Ce Ce Winans.) Please take a few minutes and worship the Lord as you listen to Ce  Ce sing, Oh Holy Night. I also love What Child Is This.

Now it’s YOUR TURN. What’s your favorite Christmas carol?

I love God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman. We could almost call it the “after Christmas” carol … It’s like an exhortation: “God rest ye merry, gentleman. Let nothing you dismay. Remember, Christ our Savior was born on Christmas day!” In modern language: “Don’t lose your peace, friends. Don’t be anxious or overwhelmed or disappointed. Remember, we just celebrated the birth of Christ, and that covers every day of the year!”

Julie ~ I love that song too! Honestly, I have SO many favorites. They are rich with worship and praise for the incarnate Christ – the baby who stepped down from heaven and was born to die for the sins of the world. I’M SO THANKFUL!

I love “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” The lyrics are actually fairly simple, but are so beautiful and powerful. They focus on the great cause for adoration of Christ. I also enjoy “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” for its lyrics and melody.

Merry Christmas to all of you wonderful, insightful, Christ-centered ladies! Thank you for all the Scripture digging you share!

Caroline ~ Merry Christmas to you and yours! I love almost every “Jesus” Christmas song. They help me remember that Jesus loved us so much that He came knowing the manger was a prelude to the cross! Oh what love the Father has for us!
