As you read and memorize in Psalm 27 this week, pay special attention to David’s prayer in verse 11. May you make it your own.
Lord,
Let your guidance flow through me like water down a well-worn path. There are stumbling blocks on either side of me. Steady my feet to stay level on this course, giving no reason for any to gloat over a slip-up.
Teach me your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.
Psalm 27:11
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser says
I wouldn’t know what to do with a level path. I want the challenge, the slips, the blood.
It’s my measure of character, and my proof of life.
But a nice Psalm, all the same.

Even when the path is level, the road still takes us on its twists and turns, right? So you can have your challenges, et al, but maintain steady footing through them. May no one ever accuse you of being a slacker, Andrew! :)

These words, “Let your guidance flow through me like water down a well-worn path. ” are beautiful in this prayer, Lisa. It is my desire.

When I was looking up the words in Hebrew, “teach” was also defined as “to flow as water” and so my mind went to water flowing downhill. That’s how natural I want His guidance to be to me too, Dianna. Thank you, sweet friend.
